Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why should I hire a professional copywriter, editor or proofreader?
A: Content is important. It's one of the essential ways to present yourself to the world. This is accomplished in many forms: marketing materials, advertisements, resumes, cover letters, manuscripts, dissertations, blogs, social media, et al. Subject + Verb provides you with an easy solution to maximize the effectiveness of your content. No matter what you're trying to accomplish, I am your affordable, versatile, "as needed" content management expert.
Q: What are your prices?
A: Prices vary. And, most importantly, clients and projects vary. I don't like to ascribe a "one size fits all" approach to anyone or anything, as we are all individuals, with unique needs and goals. Overall, I want to find the best solution possible for my clients; a solution that is affordable and mutually beneficial.
Q: How do I get in contact with you?
A: There are a few different ways to contact me. The best ways are to contact me on Twitter at SubjectPlusVerb or you can email me.
Q: When are you available to work?
A: To put it simply, anytime. But, contrary to popular belief, I do sleep on occasion. I'll just say this: if you get in contact with me, I'll get back to you within 24 hours.
Q: What type of payments do you accept?
A: I accept checks, Paypal, and credit cards.
Q: Where are you located?
A: Southern California. But this doesn't mean I only service this area. No matter where you're located, we can work together. The catch, of course, is that you won't get to see my pretty face. Unless we do a Google+ chat, which would be great too.
Q: Are there any up-front fees?
A: I do ask for a deposit up front. Typically, for new clients I ask for 30% of the original estimate. If other arrangements are needed, I'm open to discussion.
Q: Is your portfolio a complete list of your work?
A: Not in the slightest. The online portfolio is a small sample of the work I've done. Sometimes, clients ask that the work not be placed in the portfolio. And sometimes, given the nature of the project, it doesn't lend itself well to an online portfolio format.
Q: What industries do you work in?
A: I have experience writing and editing content for marketing firms, advertising companies, universities, non-profit organizations, restaurants, novelists, and many more. If there is content to be written or fine-tuned, I can do it.
But if I had to claim a weakness it would be in the technical content field. Also, quantum physics. Hey, I'm a word nerd. Numbers aren't my strong suit.
